In order to ensure that a brand is completely cruelty free, doesn’t test on animals at any point during the production of their products, I reach out to them through email. Here is my email exchange with Absolution Apothecary…
Good afternoon!
My name is Svetlana and I’m the founder of Ethical Bunny, a website that features an extensive list of cruelty free brands and advocates for animal rights. Absolution Apothecary has been listed on my website’s cruelty free brand list for quite some time now and, as I was upgrading my website, I noticed that you do not appear to have any cruelty free certifications. Would you mind answering a few questions for me?
- Are your finished products or individual ingredients tested on animals?
- Do you have a Leaping Bunny, CCF or PETA certification?
- Are your products sold in retail locations in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong)?
- Do your suppliers or any third parties test on animals on your behalf?
- Are you owned by a parent company that conducts animal testing?
Please get back to me at your earliest convenience. Thank you!!

Here is their response:
I have concluded that Absolution Apothecary is, in fact, cruelty free and it has been added to our database of cruelty free brands. Their products may also be featured in our shopping guides. If you have any further questions or would like to check out their products, visit their website.
