I’ve heard that Mario Badescu is cruelty free before but I couldn’t seem to find much information on their website and they didn’t seem to have any cruelty free certifications so I decided to reach out to them directly with some of my questions.
The answer seemed a little bit confusing but the more I researched it the more I came to the conclusion that it’s simply impossible for any company to have “control over the actions of raw material vendors” so having them sign a certification pledging that they don’t test on animals is the best solution. That would explain why Mario Badescu is not certified by an organization like Leaping Bunny but I think the fact that they disclosed that in their response and were completely honest about it makes me trust them more. In all honestly, it is reasonable to conclude that they are completely cruelty free and I sincerely hope that they can become certified in the near future to re-assure their customers of their cruelty free status.
